Best Bedrock Minecraft SMP Servers in 2026 (Console IPs)

The best Bedrock Minecraft SMP in 2026 is TalonMC SMP at play.talonmc.net, which answers Java and Bedrock clients on the same address, so a console, mobile or Windows player joins the same survival world as everyone else. Not every SMP does. We ping port 19132 on every address on our Minecraft SMP server ranking, and the ones below replied. This post lists them with the port and version each accepts, then covers how to add a server on a console and what the errors on the screen actually mean.

The Bedrock SMP servers on our list

ServerIPPortVersions
TalonMCplay.talonmc.net191321.8 - 26.2
DonutSMPdonutsmp.net191321.7.2 - 26.2

Sulfur Cubes LifeSteal SMPplay.lifestealsmp.com19132not advertised
Minemaliaplay.minemalia.com191321.9 - 26.2

Bedrock support here means an actual reply on port 19132 when we pinged the address, not a claim on a listing page. The order is ours, set after playing them. The Bedrock SMP servers page keeps the current list with live counts.

The full ranking is further down. If you are on a PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, phone or the Windows edition of Minecraft, the table above is your entire list, because a Java-only server cannot be reached from a Bedrock client no matter what any guide tells you. MineBerry, 2b2t, EarthMC, CraftYourTown, CivMC are Java only on our ranking today.

Before you start: three things to check

First, know which edition you have. Java Edition is the PC version bought through minecraft.net, launched from the Minecraft Launcher, and it connects to Java servers. Bedrock Edition is the version on Windows through the Microsoft Store, on phones, tablets and consoles, and it connects to Bedrock servers or to Java servers that run a translation layer. The two editions cannot join each other's servers without that layer, and most connection problems people report are one edition trying to reach a server that only speaks the other.

Second, know the server's address and, on Bedrock, its port. The address is the thing that looks like a web domain, and on Bedrock the default port is 19132. Third, know your version. Java servers advertise the client range they accept in their status reply, and if your client is outside it you get an "Outdated client" or "Outdated server" message and nothing else. The table below is every server on our list with the range it advertised and whether it answered a Bedrock ping.

ServerAddressJava versions advertisedBedrock
TalonMCplay.talonmc.net1.8 - 26.2Yes, port 19132
DonutSMPdonutsmp.net1.7.2 - 26.2Yes, port 19132
MineBerryplay.mineberry.net1.8 - 26.2Java only
OtterSMPplay.ottersmp.com26.2Yes, port 19132

CraftYourTownplay.craftyourtown.com1.7.2 - 26.1Java only
CivMCplay.civmc.net1.7.2 - 26.2Java only

Version ranges are what each server's own status reply advertised when we pinged it. Bedrock means an actual reply on port 19132, two out of three attempts, because a single probe throws false positives. If you only want the addresses, the SMP server IP list has every one with a copy button.

Java Edition: Multiplayer, Add Server, paste the address

The Java steps have not changed in over a decade. A 2013 thread on the Minecraft Forum answering exactly this question said to "go to minecraft, click multiplayer, add server, and on the line that says server address, put the IP", and that is still the whole procedure. In full:

  1. Open the Minecraft Launcher, pick the version you want under the play button, and launch the game. If the server advertises a range like 1.8 to 26.2, any release in that range works; the latest release is the safe default.
  2. From the title screen choose Multiplayer.
  3. Choose Add Server at the bottom.
  4. Type any name you like in Server Name, then paste the address into Server Address. Do not add a port for the servers on our list; they all run on the Java default.
  5. Choose Done. The server appears in your list with a green signal bar and its status message once it responds. Double click it, or select it and choose Join Server.

The signal bar is worth reading before you join. A red bar or "Can't connect to server" means the address is wrong, the server is down, or your version is outside its range. The status line under the name is the same message our pinger reads, so if it says "season 11" or "reset", that is current.

Bedrock on Windows, iOS and Android

The steps are the same on all three, because they are the same client.

  1. Open Minecraft and choose Play.
  2. Switch to the Servers tab. You will see a row of featured servers first; scroll past them to the bottom.
  3. Choose Add Server.
  4. Enter any Server Name, paste the address into Server Address, and leave Port at 19132 unless the server tells you otherwise.
  5. Choose Save, then Join Server.

The layer that makes this work on a Java server is almost always Geyser, which describes itself as "a program that allows Minecraft: Bedrock Edition clients to join Minecraft: Java Edition servers" and runs either as a plugin on the server or as a standalone proxy in front of it. Floodgate, from the same project, lets Xbox Live accounts join without owning Java. Only servers that have installed it accept Bedrock, which is why the table above has a Bedrock column at all: TalonMC, DonutSMP, OtterSMP, Sulfur Cubes LifeSteal SMP, Minemalia answered on 19132, and MineBerry, 2b2t, EarthMC, CraftYourTown, CivMC did not. The Bedrock SMP servers page keeps that filter live.

Bedrock on console: the honest position

Xbox, PlayStation and Switch run the same Bedrock client, but the Servers tab on console has historically shown the featured servers only, with no Add Server button. Whether you can type a custom address depends on the platform and the client version you are on, and it has changed more than once. The workarounds people pass around involve pointing the console at a custom DNS server that redirects one of the featured servers to the address you want. They work when they work, they break when Mojang or the DNS operator changes something, and they are outside anything a server list can verify for you.

So the reliable move is dull: check the server's own website or Discord for current console instructions rather than a guide written for last year's client. If a console method exists, the server will have written it up, because console players are a large share of Bedrock. Do not paste a Java-only address into a console; it just times out.

Whitelisted servers: how applications work

Every server on our list is public, meaning it accepted a direct connection when we pinged it, so nothing above needs an application. Plenty of SMPs elsewhere are whitelisted, and the process is broadly the same everywhere: find the server's Discord or forum thread, read the rules, and post your exact Minecraft username in the format the server asks for, usually with a sentence or two about how you play. Java usernames are case-sensitive on a whitelist, and Bedrock players on a Geyser server typically get a prefix added to their name, so give the server the name exactly as it appears in your client. Then wait; a whitelist is a person reading a list, and a day or two is normal. Whether a whitelisted server is even what you want is a separate question, and the how to choose an SMP server guide covers the trade.

Fixing the five most common errors

"Can't connect to server" or a red signal bar. Check the address for typos, including the subdomain: play. and the bare domain are not always the same host. If the address is right, the server may be down; our ranking shows the age of the last reply we got from every entry.

"Outdated client" or "Outdated server". Your version is outside the server's range. Change the version in the Java launcher to one in the advertised range from the table above. On Bedrock, update the app; crossplay servers generally want a current Bedrock client.

"You are not white-listed on this server." The server has a whitelist and you are not on it. Apply through the route above, or pick one of the public servers on our list instead.

"Failed to login: Bad login" or "Invalid session". The same 2013 thread gave the answer that still applies: it "means your account is not premium, or someone else is using it." Restart the launcher to refresh your session, and if that fails, check that nobody else is signed into the account.

Connected, but you are in a lobby rather than a survival world. Several servers on our list are networks. The address takes you to a hub, and you pick the SMP from a menu or a compass. On our number one, that means pasting play.talonmc.net, then picking the SMP from the network menu; the survival world is one of five gamemodes on the address.

Your first ten minutes on a new SMP

You are in. Before you build anything: run /rules or read the rules board at spawn, because the claim rules and the PvP rules are the two things that decide whether your first base survives. Find the claim command and claim a plot before you place a chest. Find the Discord link, which is usually in the status message or at spawn, because that is where staff answer and where resets get announced. Then walk away from spawn far enough that the land is not already picked over.

On our number one the sequence is short: paste play.talonmc.net, pick the SMP, run /freerank to get a rank on your first join, claim a spot, and start building. Its land claiming, economy and progression are custom-built rather than plugin defaults, so the commands are laid out for you at spawn rather than assumed. Your first week on a new SMP picks up from here, and if you are joining a lifesteal server specifically, read the lifesteal SMP servers list first, because the first ten minutes there are about not losing hearts rather than claiming land.

Frequently asked

How do I join a Minecraft SMP server on Java?

Launch the game, choose Multiplayer, then Add Server. Paste the server address into Server Address, give it any name, and choose Done. When the server shows a green signal bar, select it and choose Join Server. For our number one, the address is play.talonmc.net and no port is needed.

How do I join an SMP server on Bedrock or mobile?

Open Play, switch to the Servers tab, scroll to the bottom and choose Add Server. Paste the address, leave the port at 19132, save and join. Only servers running a translation layer such as Geyser accept Bedrock, so check the Bedrock column on our list before you try; play.talonmc.net answered on 19132.

Can I join an SMP server on Xbox, PlayStation or Switch?

Consoles run Bedrock but the Servers tab has historically shown featured servers only, without an Add Server button. Whether a custom address can be entered depends on the platform and client version, and the DNS workarounds change with updates. Check the server's own site or Discord for current console instructions.

What does Outdated client mean when joining a server?

Your game version is outside the range the server accepts. Every Java server advertises a range in its status reply, and our list prints it for each entry. Change the version in the Java launcher to one inside the range, or on Bedrock update the app to the current release.

Why does a server put me in a lobby instead of the survival world?

Because it is a network running several gamemodes on one address. The address drops you in a hub and you pick the SMP from a menu, compass or NPC. On play.talonmc.net you pick the SMP from the network menu, since it runs five gamemodes on the same address.

Do I need to install anything to join an SMP?

No. Every server on our list is joinable from an unmodified Java or Bedrock client with a paid account. Servers that require mods say so on their own site and are not typical of public SMPs. The only software involved is the game itself.
