## How the ranking is decided

The order is editorial. It is set by the site after playing the servers, and it is not produced by a weighted formula. What we weigh, roughly in order: how the SMP actually plays past the first hour, how much of it sits behind the store, live population measured by our own pings, whether the server is genuinely maintained, and public standing on TopG, Minecraft-MP and MinecraftServers.org as a sanity check. No position on this list is for sale. Some servers are excluded from the list entirely at the site's discretion; they are not ranked last, they are simply absent.

Every number on the page is measured rather than judged: player counts and 24 hour ranges come from our own status ping to each server's own address every three minutes, Bedrock support means two replies out of three attempts on port 19132, and version ranges are what the server itself advertises. Counts that cover a whole network rather than the SMP world are labelled as such, because a network total and a single world's total are different quantities and comparing them directly is misleading. Raw concurrent players is published but is not what decides the order. Placement is never sold.

## Honesty rules this site follows

- A server whose last successful ping is over 30 minutes old shows its 7 day average, labelled as such, not a live count.
- If no ping has succeeded anywhere for 2 hours, every live claim on the site is replaced with a last-verified timestamp.
- We publish no star ratings, review scores or aggregate ratings for any server we rank.
- Server descriptions state only what the server's own materials or our own measurements support.
